Dec. 4, 5 Frames of the New Ektachrome with my Noon 6×12 Pinhole:

I really didn’t think I was going to bond with the new Ektachrome, I received a 5 pack of it for my birthday this summer and never seemed to get very great results with it no matter what camera I shot it with. I thought I’d try it with my Noon pinhole as the Noon […]

Dec. 2, A Pair of 6×12 Pinhole Shots from the Archives:

These were taken with my now deaquisitioned Reality So Subtle 6×12 pinhole camera. The RSS was a great camera, although a real bear to load. A Noon 6×12 has since replaced the RSS, they’re different beasts for sure. The Noon is just so elegant and easy to load and use, it’s really a joy. The […]

    Nov. 25, 97 Hours

Of indoor Cámara Galletita Lumen exposure that is. It’s not all that much in the way of colors but I think it would take a couple weeks in that spot to get good colors with this camera. I’ll try another long exposure in a sunnier window soon.

  • Nov. 4, Trying to Follow the Sun,

Nov. 4, Trying to Follow the Sun,

With the sunlight continuing to wane it’s become increasingly difficult to get enough light for the long exposure Cámara Galletita Lumen shots. Technically this was a double exposure in that I moved the camera position once as the sun was sinking into the West. The sun was sometimes completely obscured by clouds hence the gaps […]

Nov.1, And a Couple More Poorly Exposed Pinhole Shots.

I published the other pinhole shot too early, I was intending to schedule it for today, so I thought I might as well publish the very unspectacular other two shots that came out decently. Fomapan 320 soft shot with Noon 612 and developed in Cinestill Df96 monobath.

And yet another Cámara Galletita Still Life. I think this one was a 10 hour exposure.

Oct. 24, Ceci n’est pas un Panorama ! or What a Complete Idiot I Almost Always Am.

Apologies to Magritte, if you’re a regular reader of this blog I suppose you’re already well aware of what a dunce I can be, so why do I bring it up again? Allow me to explain. The other day I took delivery of what has to be one of the most beautiful cameras I’ve ever […]

    Oct. 22 Due North

Another from my series of glass still lifes with the Cámara Galletita Lumen, this is from The Cardinal Directions series within a series. I was concerned that this one wouldn’t really work at all, as these long exposure shots seem to need a lot of light to do their thing. Since this one was faced […]

    Oct. 14, Due South

Just another Cámara Galletita Lumen shot. I think this was a 10 hour exposure. The glass still lifes series is officially finished now, I decided to end it with this little series within a series. This and the next three (although I might not post the last one) are done with the cámara facing in […]

  • Oct. 13, Some High Contrast Pinhole Shots with my RSS 6×6 and XP2

Oct. 13, Some High Contrast Pinhole Shots with my RSS 6×6 and XP2

I tend to take great delight in high contrast photographs, even more so whether by intent or through serendipity they’re generated by my own camera. The Ilford XP-2 shots that I’ve seen tend to have very pronounced contrast, a big plus in my book, and I’ve read of people having success developing it in Caffenol […]

  • Sept. 18 Noon Glass 2

    Sept. 18 Noon Glass 2

Another Cámara Galletita Lumen still life on a smokey hazy day. This one was aimed to catch the noon day sun before it was obscured by smoke. I think it’s interesting how the forms of the bottles have merged with the colors and textures of the vegetation. This really is a very odd camera.

  • Sept. 14, A Shorter, but Still Long Cámara Galletita Lumen Exposure.

Sept. 14, A Shorter, but Still Long Cámara Galletita Lumen Exposure.

This was only a five hour exposure because it seemed like rain was imminent although it never materialized. By the time I brought the camera in, the sky was so filled with smoke that there was no sunlight to speak of anyway. For this shot the camera was facing southwest but angled to catch the […]

  • Sept. 11, Rain of Fire

    Sept. 11, Rain of Fire

The title of this one seems more than a bit ironic as I was working in midtown Manhattan on Sept.11. Often I find myself crying for no reason on this date and then I remember it’s Sept.11. I haven’t ever written about that day. In NYC we didn’t know if it was the end of […]

  • Sept. 5, A Cámara Galletita Lumen Still Life

Sept. 5, A Cámara Galletita Lumen Still Life

This shot was under pretty much the same conditions as the ‘Transparency’ post of the other day, except with the cámara galletita lumen camera instead of the Lumenbox. It’s sort of a triple exposure in that I moved the camera once and then I slightly rearranged the still life once. This was an 11 hour […]

June 5, Five More Frames of Tmax

With a Skink f/71 photon sieve from the July 3rd roll.

  • July 3, 6 Frames of Tmax P3200 with a Photon Sieve:

July 3, 6 Frames of Tmax P3200 with a Photon Sieve:

These were shot with my Skink pancake f/71 photon sieve on my Canon IVSb2 (the Leica Ic is in the shop) and developed in Cinestill monobath. My thought in taking this roll was that the high contrast and grainy nature of Tmax 3200 would complement the sort of grainy, blurriness that the photon sieve gives. […]

June 22, A Summer Solstice Cámara Galletita Lumen Photo.

Technically, at the moment it’s not a true cámara galletita as it doesn’t currently have a cracker for a lens, but rather an aluminum foil, multi-pinhole faux cracker.
